About James
James J. Tenn, Jr. is a trial lawyer, whose practice includes personal injury, criminal defense matters, parenting disputes over children, and divorce in New Hampshire.
Jim is a member of the Best Lawyers in America, one of the oldest and most respected peer-review publications. Jim is also included in Super Lawyers, a rating service of outstanding lawyers who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. Jim has been recognized by New Hampshire Magazine as a top lawyer and as an ideal attorney.
Jim is a life-long resident of New Hampshire and is a proud graduate of Manchester Central High School. Jim is the immediate past President of the New Hampshire Bar Association. Jim is an active member of the New Hampshire, Manchester, and American Bar Associations. Jim currently serves on the Manchester Bar Association Executive Committee. Jim has also served the New Hampshire Bar Association as Vice-Chair; Governor-At-Large; Hillsborough County Governor; and has served as the Vice-Chair of the New Hampshire Bar Association Pro Bono Policy Advisory Board. Jim is also active in the New Hampshire Bar Foundation and continues to serve as Chair of the Foundation Development Committee.
Jim has received numerous awards. In January, 2000, Jim was recognized by the New Hampshire Bar Foundation and was presented the prestigious Robert E. Kirby award for demonstrating traits of civility, courtesy, perspective and excellent advocacy in the practice of law. In 2001, Jim was recognized by the New Hampshire Bar Association for distinguished pro bono service. Jim has also received recognition as 40 Under Forty in New Hampshire.
Jim is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. He is also admitted in the United States Supreme Court. Jim received his J.D. from the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law in 1991. He graduated from Boston College, Suma Cum Laude, with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.
Among Jim’s many civic and charitable activities, he is the past chairman of the Keyspan Youth Leadership Program. Jim is also the past Chair of the Manchester Chamber of Commerce Leadership Alumni Association. Jim has served on the advisory board of the Manchester Community Television. Jim is an active supporter of the Manchester Monarchs.
