Late March early April I was involved in a car accident due to snow coming off of my trailer. I was cited for negligent driving and given a court date. As a commercial driver I can not have a negligent driving charge or a loss of license. I wasn’t sure what my next step was, so I started to search for a lawyer that could help me out. I was arrested and charged with aggr. DWI on two different counts; speed and high BAC. I have never had any criminal charges and was scared plus unsure of what to do. I knew if convicted during court, I was pretty much screwed, especially having recently started a new job.

A good friend recommended Tenn and Tenn, specifically John as they knew each other. I reached out to John and told him my story. He let me know right away that it’s not a good situation to be in at all and was very straightforward about how everything was going to work if I retained him. I did some research about Tenn and Tenn and found nothing but high praise. I gave John a call back letting him know I wanted to go through with everything. John let me know they would start all paperwork immediately and get the ball rolling.

My account of the situation when I described it to John wasn’t entirely accurate as I didn’t remember very important details. The case brought back by the state painted a really ugly picture. John didn’t sugar coat things; he let me know I’m in a very bad spot and beating both counts of aggr. would be real tough. But, he would still fight for me.

I got a call back less than a week later from John saying he was able to talk with the prosecutor and get both counts of aggr. removed. Aggr. carries a minimum sentence that includes jail time.

John got me out of an impossible situation to something way more manageable. He tells you how it is but is really professional and works hard.

I would highly recommend John Tenn.

I found the link to Tenn And Tenn while reading reviews online. I got myself into a bit of trouble and didn’t know what to do. From the start John took initiative and was very professional. He told me my options and the best possible outcome I could expect. He kept me from having a very serious charge on my record through negotiations. He walked me through how to look for court and what to say, which was a huge relief as I was very nervous. On the day of court, the person before me was facing similar charges and didn’t get nearly as good of a deal. This was very impressive to me. After a relaxing evening on the boat, clear night, hanging in the bay on lake winnipesaukee, my son and 4 of of friends got pulled over by marine patrol and beer was on the boat! My son got charged with DUI. He willingly did a sobriety test, which was done on marine patrol boat, at night ! After having a few too many drinks I found myself in a particularly bad situation when I made the poor decision to get behind a wheel. This inevitably led to a trip to the police station in a set of handcuffs. With a failed sobriety test and the evidence stacked against me I was left feeling like my life was falling apart. I felt like I was about to lose everything I had worked so hard for. Unfortunately in my younger days I acquired a lengthy criminal record. I was really in a bad spot. I was blessed to find John Tenn. His expertise and experience, coupled with his dedication and fighter attitude truly saved me. I recently was involved in an out of state accident where I was severely injured in a public forum with an unknown party involved. After receiving emergency medical treatment I flew home and was prepared to recuperate and try to get back to my normal life as best as I could. I had no idea I may have been eligible for assistance from the other parties involved. I was at one of my sons sporting events when I ran into John Tenn and he asked me what happened. After giving him all of the details he said he would look into this particular states personal injury laws. After seeing him on other occasions he would always keep me posted on his progress. Keep in mind, he did not ask me to visit his office, sign any documents or hire him as my attorney. This was all being done on his own time trying to help out a fellow parent.
In the end after many months of communication, Atty Tenn was able to get all of my medical bills paid and a substantial settlement from the insurance company that insured one of the parties ending up being at fault. The accident was a very freak incident and I had no idea that this was a covered expense by the other parties insurance company. If it had not been for Atty Tenn’s caring and persistence to do the right thing, I never would of known my rights.

I would describe myself as someone that does not require a defense attorney. This changed on September 6th when I heard the dreaded knock on the door only to see a police officer. I do believe this to be one of every parent’s worst nightmares. My 19 year old had wrapped her vehicle around a utility pole and was in the hospital. By the grace of God she was physically unharmed other than bumps and bruises. Our family continues to be quite thankful for that.

We are also quite thankful for the guidance and representation we received from John Tenn as this family was surely in uncharted waters; dealing with a DUI for a minor and with zero experience dealing with the courts.

Right out of the gate John was quick to acknowledge and assist. I felt confident I had found the right attorney to represent my daughter as soon as we spoke over the telephone. He kept to the facts, kept us fully informed of all proceedings, and documented everything in writing.

It is clear John is highly respected by the courts. I observed this first hand at the Pre Trial hearing. John was able to keep my daughter out of jail for the terrible mistake she made. If you’re looking for a lawyer who’ll get you out of a sure conviction, then look no further than John Tenn. I had pretty much resigned myself to having a DUI on my record for the rest of life. I also expected my auto insurance rates to go up through the roof and have to attend an endless routine of AA meetings. I felt defeated at the onset because the police had me “dead to rights.” Even though I was in a parked position, I was behind the wheel and the key was in the ignition. On top of that someone reported that I was driving in the wrong lane prior to that. On the advice of a close relative who was also baled out of what seemed to be an impossible situation to get out of, I turned to John Tenn. John Tenn is as close a guarantee that you can get avoiding conviction of a DUI charge. The risk of conviction for DUI is too great to go with anyone other than John Tenn to defend you. Any other lawyer will make your odds of conviction more likely, John tilts the playing field your way. My only reason for writing this review is because of the gratitude I feel towards John for the effort and the result he produced. In July 2014, I was arrested in the Lakes Region of NH and was charged with DUI / DWI. The experience was very upsetting and I really thought I was going to lose my driver’s license along with many other repercussions from the arrest including issues with my employer and my firearm’s license.

I was recently charged with Aggravated DWI in NH. The odds of success seemed low because my blood test revealed a .28 BAC. As an attorney myself, I know how difficult these charges are to win. John Tenn has been excellent! The cause of my motorcycle accident was the person ran a stop sign. She had a stop and we didn’t (I was leading 6 people). A few of my friends encouraged me with a case and sent John to my house as I was laid up. All I can say is that it all worked out and almost an exact day to the year, I was awarded a nice settlement I never thought of. The start of my case with attorney Tenn was a bit rough, he was brutally honest with me and that was hard. I was annoying his law firm because I had a lot of anxiety about my case so it was deserved. I was skeptical at first when reading the reviews and reading people’s experiences. I decided to call Tenn and Tenn and see how the initial phone conversation went. After speaking with John Tenn I felt like he was extremely knowledgeable about the law and felt comfortable moving forward with them. To say Tenn and Tenn is the best law firm in New Hampshire would be an absolute understatement! I called John Tenn to represent me in a case that could have been very detrimental to my life. I found myself in an unfamiliar position after being arrested for DUI. I was disappointed that I ended up in that position and nervous about what the outcome would be. I knew I needed an attorney but I had no clue where to start. I Googled the best DUI attorneys in my area and Tenn and Tenn caught my attention so I gave them a call. John Tenn returned my call and we discussed my situation. He seemed to be straight forward, confident, and experienced. I still wasn’t completely comfortable talking to only one attorney and not at least comparing him with a couple more. Someone told me his friends had good results using an attorney nearby so I called that attorney. He was nice but a couple things he said made me question hiring him. I ended up getting wrapped up in a legal issue late last year stemming from a dispute with a jealous neighbor. The guy manufactured part of the story and the police fell for it hook, line, and sinker. I was upset at the injustice of it all and wanted to fight back. I was arrested and facing a subsequent DUI and Drving after Suspension. I was almost certain that no matter how good my attorney was, I was going to have to spend some time in jail. I called John Tenn and gave him my story. From our first call I knew he cared and would do everything he could for me. He was very honest about how serious this was and the potentially bad outcome based on my past. Although that scared me, I also appreciated it because it helped me prepare myself and my family for the worst. I’ll leave my review vague for obvious reasons, but John is an incredible lawyer. Not being in this position before, I didn’t really know the exact procedure. After looking through options, all roads led back to Tenn and Tenn as the best in criminal defense locally. The price for John is worth it, whatever it happens to be for your situation. For John will be 100% honest with the penalty you could be facing and will be blunt about it. Him giving worst-case scenario is a little nerve racking, but the blatant honesty he approaches the situation is sobering and he’ll most certainly go to bat for you for the best resolution following that initial call. I was in need of a lawyer after my girlfriend got arrested for violating a protective order filed by her looney sister in Nashua court. I struggled to find reviews relating to divorce attorneys so am hoping this will help someone in the future.

When my husband unexpectedly announced he wanted a divorce, I knew I would need to find a good attorney. I asked friends for recommendations and spent a lot of time on google, AVVO, looking at Linked In etc etc.

From my initial phone conversation with Mary Tenn, I suspected that she would be the best attorney for my case but I wanted to be 110% sure so I booked consultations with 4 different attorneys all highly recommended. Note that the good attorneys will charge a consultation fee, it’s worth it. The attorneys I met with all had very different approaches, one was very laid back and basically advised a quick settlement for less money, another was incredibly aggressive talking about years in court to ensure the highest possible sum. I had considered hiring a collaborative law attorney (both parties commit to staying out of court) but once I realized that you would have to hire a new attorney if the process breaks down and you need to go to court, I knew this wouldn’t work.

Mary’s AVVO rating, experience and recognition from the NH bar foundation and Harvard education/involvement gave me confidence but it was when I met her in person (the final consultation) that I knew she was the right lawyer for my case. You have to share fairly personal things/financial details with your divorce attorney and I felt comfortable with Mary, I also appreciated her strategic approach, clever way of thinking and no-nonsense advice and guidance. I could tell by the questions she asked me and the advice she gave me that she would do everything she could to get me the best possible outcome.

Mary recommended bringing in a CPA/attorney due to the complexities of our financial situation (business, properties, investments, complicated retirement accounts) and this was extremely beneficial. The extra expense was more than covered by the additional funds that were “uncovered”.

In an ideal world, your spouse will also hire a good attorney so the case progresses smoothly. My husband hired (in my opinion) a terrible attorney who frequently demonstrated a lack of knowledge in the law and had a less than optimal communication style. It was only through reading her letters that I truly understood the difference in the Tenn & Tenn approach. For example, I was always given the opportunity to read/approve all letters before they were sent. That sounds like a minor thing but you’re (usually) the person who knows your spouse better than anyone else and although it was rare, I would occasionally request a change in wording to avoid phrases/statements that would have resulted in getting my husband riled up and caused additional conflict.

I also worked with Jim Tenn on my case and just like Mary, he was extremely experienced and professional with the same strategic way of thinking. Without going into specific details, there were numerous occasions when I’d ask “Why are we doing/saying this?” and when Mary or Jim explained the rationale, I was blown away. I felt like we were always one step ahead of my husband and his attorney which was very reassuring.

Some practical things to consider when hiring an attorney – preferred methods of communication and how quickly they’ll return your calls. During a divorce, there are inevitably panicked calls to your attorney and both Mary and Jim were extremely responsive, always returning my calls by the end of the day and having their (lovely) office staff let me know if they were in court etc.

Mary and Jim were able to keep my case out of court (very important to me) whilst also getting me the settlement I had hoped for in a very good timeframe. Their knowledge of family law and experience with divorce is second to none and their quiet compassion made a really horrible time a little more bearable. I would have no hesitation in recommending them as divorce attorneys.

I was arressted by NH state police and charge with DWI 2nd offense. I refused the breath test also, so I was facing a total of 5 year loss of license (2 year from DMV ALS) and 30 day jail time. On a first offense DUI I was facing jail time because of the circumstances surrounding my arrest. John was able to get my charges reduced so that I only had to pay a hefty fine and 9 months loss of license (hefty fine was a trade off for time without a license) which I graciously accepted. The state had plenty of evidence to put me in jail for a lengthy sentence and for me to lose my license for two years (mandatory). As a single parent these consequences would have had devastating results. John understood my situation and worked hard to mitigate my consequences.
